Car Repair Requirements:

  • MUST BE A CURRENT RESIDENT OF ANOKA COUNTY, MN
  • Adult
  • Must not be over income as outlined in the application “Participant Survey”
  • Must have a valid driver’s license that shows current address
  • Must have car insurance (we will ask for a copy of your current proof of vehicle insurance) in your name
  • The vehicle must be registered in your name
  • 3 months of income verification (see the information in the column to the right)
  • NO previous assistance from Cars for Neighbors or Free to Be, Inc.
  • We are NOT able to assist with non-running vehicles, transmissions, engines, and other major repairs or bodywork
  • We are NOT able to provide payment for existing or potential car repairs not done through our application process
  • PLEASE NOTE: Cars For Neighbors does NOT donate vehicles, Cars For Neighbors repairs vehicles ONLY.

Please Note: We will ask for income verification documentation including but not limited to pay stubs, bank statements, SSI and SSDI benefit letters, unemployment benefits, cash assistance, etc.

To apply for car repair assistance, please the completed application to admin@carsforneighbors.org along with copies of your current valid driver’s license, current insurance card, your vehicle titled in your name, and 3 months of income verification.
